7 Kinds of Sexual Arousal Measuring Tool

Scientists can measure the distance of the atom and the sun from the other galaxies in the universe. Scientists can also measure the pain, so of course the scientists were able to find a tool to measure the extent to which a person is sexually stimulated.

Most of these devices are used for research in the laboratory. But some are also used for mere entertainment and educate consumers.

As reported by io9.com, Monday (05/07/2012), here are seven tools that can be used to measure sexual arousal:

1. Photoplethysmograph

The device is inserted into the vagina to measure a woman's sex drive. The device was first invented by John Perry.

How it works combine sensors of blood flow and muscle activity sensor. At the end of the light sensor is also fitted. The tool holder is added in order not to get into the vagina and does not fall during muscle contraction.

Perry made the tool is then refined by researchers at the University of British Columbia's Sexual Psychophysiology and Psychoneuroendocrinology Laboratory.

Photoplethysmograph version 2 is smaller, shaped like a tampon and serves to measure the volume of blood in the vagina, Vaginal Pulse Amplitude (VPA) and heart rate in response to erotic stimuli.

2. Lingerie Body Temperature Gauge

Laura Lanzo recently found a lingerie-coated beads that are sensitive to heat. The beads will change color due to the increase in temperature-sensitive sexual zones.

Lingerie is working with the same principles as photoplethysmograph, which measures the increase in body temperature and blood flow to the genitals.

Beads placed close to the groin area in panties and bra on the erogenous zones, namely the bra cup and strap.

3. Cuff Penis

Device created by a group of researchers in France are measured blood flow to the penis. How it works revealed in Nature's International Journal of impotence Research.

This tool is adapted to the penis and connected by three tube pressure. Signal from the pressure tubes can be digitized so that it can be monitored via computer.

If they want to monitor their own sex, are devices that can connect to Windows using a USB.

The tool is manufactured by a company called SMT Medical photoplethysmography and adapting the method to measure the pressure wave in the penis through a small cuff.

4. Plethysmography Penis

Plethysmography is often used in treating sex offenders. Doctors showed pictures of erotic actors and see the reaction on his penis.

At first, this tool is used to prove whether someone is a sex offenders or potential to do so. But many courts consider this tool can not be accepted as proof.

5. Muscle Contraction Monitor

Another way that can be used to measure the male sex drive is to monitor the muscle contractions during orgasm.

The best way to do this is to insert an instrument through the anus to measure muscle contraction as the man to masturbate to orgasm.

A group of researchers at the University of Minnesota Medical School doing research on male orgasm in this way and the results published in The Archives of Sexual Behavior.

6. A Tool for Diagnosing Premature Ejaculation
This patented tool for measuring premature ejaculation. Basically, this tool is a vibrator that comes with a stopwatch.

The inventors showed that patients with premature ejaculation can use this device to measure how long he can hold ejaculation.

7. Smart Sex Toys

Smart sex toy was created by Gregg S. Homer. He monitored sexual arousal to determine how excited the wearer then sends the information into a computer and transmit sexual stimulation to another computer.

So the computer can show input sexual desire and arousal are perceived as its output.
